October 31st marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther unveiling his 95 thesis that launched the Reformation. This summer the Reformed Church joined Catholics and Lutherans, endorsing a 1999 agreement on how Christians “rejoice together that the historical doctrinal differences on the doctrine of justification no longer divide us.” The Vatican declared that this agreement is “another important milestone on the journey towards the full visible unity of Christians.”

After an extremely enjoyable night with Bishop Sklba reflecting on ecumenical dialogue earlier this month at Eat, Drink and Be Catholic, our family of parishes is excited to invite parishioners to a series of conversations with our brothers and sisters at City Reformed Church. Following Bishop Sklba’s rules for dialogue, we will explore our understandings of faith, gospel, justification, sanctification, and ways that we can cooperate in witnessing to the saving love of Jesus Christ in our city.

These dialogues will take place at City Reformed Church starting at 7:00 pm on the following dates: October 25, November 8, November 29 and December 13.
