As we prepare to launch our Lenten almsgiving project with Habitat for Humanity next month, our family of four parishes is planning a Lenten book study of the Pulitzer Prize winning book, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City.  “In Evicted, Princeton sociologist and MacArthur ‘Genius’ Matthew Desmond follows eight families in Milwaukee as they each struggle to keep a roof over their heads…Evicted transforms our understanding of poverty and economic exploitation while providing fresh ideas for solving one of  twenty-first-century America’s most devastating problems.  Its unforgettable scenes of hope and loss remind us of the centrality of home, without which nothing else is possible.”

Our weekly Friday afternoon group will start discussing the book on March 22, and our weekly Wednesday evening group will start on March 27. If you are interesting in learning more about these conversations, please contact our Pastoral Associate of Formation and Justice, Chad Griesel, at gro.l1553119429imhcr1553119429a@cle1553119429seirg1553119429 or 414-271-6180.
