The USCCB’S National Day of Prayer
for Peace in Our Communities
and the Feast of St. Peter Claver
Please join your Catholic sisters and brothers from across the Archdiocese for a special mass to pray for peace in our communities, something for which our city so desperately yearns.
We celebrate this mass on the feast of St. Peter Claver, the holy man who spent his entire life ministering to African slaves and fighting to abolish the slave trade.
The Central City, Downtown and Eastside parishes, Knights and Ladies of Peter Claver, and the Office of Urban Ministry encourage everyone to join in prayer and stay after mass for refreshments and conversation.
Fr. Timothy Kitzke, Vicar General for Urban Ministry, will preside.
