Eat, Drink and Be Catholic offers women and men of all ages a casual opportunity to explore the Catholic faith. The hope is that at the end of each evening, individuals not only know more but are inspired and empowered to more fully live out the faith we celebrate on Sundays.
“One discovers God in and through the things of this world.” Fr. Stephen Bevans
This year, speakers will explore “The Catholic Imagination” and how we are invited to experience God in the beauty of novels, music, visual arts, poetry and many other places where God’s loving presence is revealed outside of explicitly “religious” places. Drinks and appetizers are provided.
Our next session will be on Wednesday, November 20 at Mo’s…A Place for Steaks (720 N Plankinton Ave) beginning at 7:00 pm. Mamie and Jacob Riyeff will lead a reflection called: “Your Love Is Better than Wine: God as Lover in the Catholic Imagination.” Though we often imagine God as a parent or a friend, the Catholic tradition invites us also to imagine God as the Bridegroom who longs for us, his Bride. Join us as we explore that tradition from the ancient Scriptures all the way up to here in modern-day Wisconsin!
Please RSVP to Chad Griesel at cgriesel@ffpmke.org.
