Lent 2023 – Real Presence: Real Love
The Family of Four Parishes is happy to announce that this year’s Lenten theme is “Real Presence: Real Love.” Our Lenten almsgiving partner is the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Milwaukee. During this season of Lent, we will invite parishioners to learn about and get involved with our local St. Vincent de Paul conferences through service and generous giving. We look forward to encountering our Lord and each other through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
Lenten Almsgiving
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization of lay persons which seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity, and by person- to-person involvement of its members, to eliminate poverty and hunger. Vincentian helping can include any person-to-person assistance that promotes human dignity and integrity. The Society is concerned not only with relieving need but also with addressing the situations that cause it. Please join the parishioners from our family of parishes as we strive to make Lent a place where we all remember that we belong to one another.
At St. Vincent de Paul, they rely on donations like yours to provide the most assistance possible to our community members and neighbors. When you provide sheets and blankets, kitchen dishes and utensils, furniture, and other gently used or new items, they are able to help make a house or apartment feel more like a home; we are able to be God’s hand and bring His love to our neighbors.
If you’d like to support this almsgiving campaign, please write a check to St. Vincent de Paul and put “Lenten Almsgiving” in the memo line. Donation envelopes can be found in the pews. Together, we can change the lives of our neighbors in Milwaukee.
