We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you.
For by your holy cross, you have redeemed the world.
Dear Friends,
Never before have I needed Holy Week as I do now! It goes without saying there is so much going on in the world right now, both our personal lives and the lives of our families, our cities, our nation, our church. We truly are on the way of the Cross!
We need this week leading up to Easter to slow down a bit, to change our daily schedule so we have time to breathe in the presence of the King of Kings, our Savior. We need to take the mess of our lives and let our Savior carry us to new life. Easter is coming, but we need to go to Calvary first!
Let’s all try to make this the best Holy Week ever! I remember growing up when my mom would have us all go to as many of the Holy Days as possible. We were in church a lot, but as I look back, it really helped, and provides me with enduring memories to help me get through the messes I face today.
Let’s pray for each other and for all burdened with life’s anxieties. Let’s pray for peace, especially in the Holy Land. Let’s remember all who are suffering for their faith and who don’t enjoy the freedom or opportunity to go to church like we do. Let’s go for them!
A blessed Holy Week to you!
Sincerely, with love,
Fr. Tim
