Riverwest Food Pantry is now Kinship Community Food Center!

After 40 years, our mission has evolved and it’s time for our name to reflect that. The name Kinship better reflects how we gather around food to share our lives and build trusting relationships. It’s a change in the way we see hunger. We no longer just distribute food; we use food as an entry point to change all our lives. It’s a change to the way we view our city. We belong to each other; everyone has a gift to give and everyone has a gift to receive. It’s a change to our name, but not to who we are. A new name, the same heart.

Kinship Community Food Center’s Mission

Kinship Community Food Center engages volunteers and neighborhood residents to end hunger, isolation, and poverty. Our innovative programs nourish food security and wellness, foster belonging and community engagement, and empower stability and economic prosperity in our city.
